Decision-making frameworks

- In Agile, we work hard to drive decision-making to the people closest to the work. We want our teams to make decisions every day on the design and build up of their product. At this tactical level, it makes perfect sense for the decisions to be made with the team. They are after all closest to the work. However, as leaders we know there are decisions that can't and shouldn't be made at the team level. Examples that fall into this arena are things like strategy, corporate policies and budgets. There's always an unstated framework we use to choose which decisions belong to the teams. So let's talk about the decision-making framework so we can share it with our teams. There are four primary decision-making frameworks. First, authoritarian decisions are made by a single individual.
