- Have you ever gotten feedback from someone and you thought that was totally off base or what are they talking about? We've all been in a position, where we've received feedback that either didn't feel good or didn't sound right. Didn't sound like it was representative of what other people thought. So how do you know when you can disregard feedback? There's a process, you don't have to take everyone's feedback. All feedback is not created equal. You are the person in control and you get to choose what you take in and what you disregard. Here's my advice for analyzing whether or not the feedback is actually valid. First of all, take it in. Take a moment to digest, think about what you heard. And then, ask yourself the question, is this representative of what other people think, or is this an outlier?
