(upbeat music) - There's a very nice concept called Deathbed Regrets. Deathbed Regret is asking the question when you are about to die, what kind of things would you regret? And for an academic, it turns out it's almost never there was another paper I wish I wrote. But you know, when you think about what are you going to regret at the end of your life, it doesn't have to be that morbid, let's say the end of the year or the end of the month or the end of the week. When you think about what are you going to regret on those long term cases, it's rarely another meeting. It's rarely, oh, they were like, "If I only got "to inbox zero three more times." "Once when I was 73..." I mean those things don't really matter. But at the moment, they seem to be important. So what happen is when we, in the workplace, we often optimizing short term activity rather than long term activity.
