- [Instructor] Before you start recording with Loom, you should check your settings to make sure you'll be capturing the action on screen the way you want or need to. Here on my Mac, Loom is already running. So I'm going to come up to the Loom icon in the menu bar. And here, I'm going to click the three dot button here to open up preferences. If you're on Windows, you'll open up the Loom app from the start menu and then click the three dot button and choose preferences from there. Here I'm going to make sure settings is selected at the top. Now there are a few differences between the Mac and Windows versions, but for the most part the settings you see here are the same on both operating systems. At the top, you'll find the default quality menu. Can see it's currently set to auto, which lets Loom choose what it considers is the best video quality for your recordings.
