Cultural differences
- We run global and complex organizations and even if your organization isn't global, you may be serving customers or partners or working with suppliers who are. Executive decisions have to account for some of the cultural differences that can come into play. Understanding impacts your decision will have on other cultures as well as how other cultures are going to effect your decision. Different cultures have different decision making styles. Consider that when you're forming your decision making committee. When you go to articulate what decision making style you're going to use, be aware of some of the positive and negative impacts that style can have on the different cultures you're going to effect. Be sure to consider the global impacts of your decision. For example, does a product labeling change in North America cause regulatory issues in Asia? One example I'm aware of is a global consumer package goods company.…
