Creativity is a portfolio of skills
- One of the most damaging myths about creativity is that it's a skill that some people have and other's don't. That's just balderdash. And one of the reasons for that is that creativity isn't actually a skill. Instead, it's a whole bunch of different abilities that come together to help you create ideas. These include things like gathering, remembering, analyzing, adapting, and evaluating. These creative abilities aren't evenly distributed. Some are more common than others. Let's look at the most important ones you need to see ideas through to fruition. You'll then be able to work out what skills you have, what skills you want to develop, and what skills you want to outsource to others. This is my hierarchy of creative skills.
