- Author and personal branding coach Bernard Kelvin Olive says, "Visibility doesn't automatically "translate into value, don't just be everywhere, "be where you are most needed." This is the central concern of any business. What is value? How do they create it, retain it and increase it? In general, value is the end result of an organization meeting its strategic goals. How value is created depends on a number of factors, not the least of which are the company's mission and culture. For example, if a company was created with the mission of eliminating the spread of HIV virus, the leadership may see investing in a nonprofit that conducts research related to developing a vaccine as a way to create value. Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Airlines, said, "Clients do not come first. "Employees come first. "If you take care of your employees, "they will take care of your clients."
