Somewhere there was a government office or agency who saw the potential and got creative. So how can you open your mind and that of your team to think creatively? Let's take a look at different ways a leader in government can think outside the box. All governments run on a budget. So start by using internal resources to look for innovative solutions. Talk to customers, internal and external, liaisons, and community groups to get their opinion. You can also talk to your partners and suppliers to see how they view the service you're providing, and if they have any ideas of how it can be done better. Consult with other departments and units in your organization and senior leadership. And seek fresh viewpoints from interns, co-op students, rotational, and detail employees.
