Creating effective product teams

- There's something magical about being part of a high performing team. High performing product teams come from a place of respect, collaboration and a product vision that inspires them to do the difficult work of creating a product people love. The product team comes together for however long is needed to complete the project. The team operates best when everyone feels ownership over the success of the product and are committed to each other. There is no hierarchy in a product team. In fact, a product team is not a formal part of the company's hierarchy either. The engineers will continue reporting to the VP of engineering, the product marketing managers, the VP of marketing and the product managers and product designers will continue reporting to the VP of product. You may have different names for these positions but for the sake of this course, I'll be referring to them as VPs.
