Creating a culture of insiders

- Stephen Covey says, "When the trust account is high, "communication is easy, instant and effective." Making your employees feel like insiders creates a sense of trust and loyalty. Soon you'll understand how to establish a culture of trust by communicating consistently and effectively. As a leader, one of the greatest gifts you give a team is the big picture, why it's important, and how everyone fits into it. Remember to make employees aware of the organizational goals your department is tied to. Everyone should know where the department is headed. Invite employees to articulate in front of their peers what they're doing in their core job to contribute to the overall objective. At that time, each employee can ask questions, get clarity, and notice any areas of opportunity. Then, share information openly with your employees. However, you don't have to share everything. You can share enough so that people feel connected while not putting yourself or your team at risk. For example…
