Creating accountability

- Accountability is a critical yet often overlooked component of goal achievement. I define accountability as receiving ongoing guidance and follow-up from someone you trust. By my definition, you cannot hold yourself accountable. While you can certainly be personally responsible for the decisions you make, accountability requires the help of a third party. When world-class athletes say their success was the product of great coaching, they're referring to this kind of accountability. It's essential to have someone who can assess your progress, give you training, and encourage you to keep working towards your goal. There are three main options for accountability. First, your friends. By this I'm including your family and possibility coworkers. This form of accountability is usually very convenient because you already know them, and they won't cost you anything except for maybe a bit of humility when asking for help.…
