- So now let's start with the first organizational type. Let's look at the control culture. This culture has a tendency to be very authoritarian. Think of it like a wolf pack, they're the alpha managers who set the direction for the entire organization, then there are beta managers who move up through the ranks by following the key leaders. These companies have a tendency to have a conservative management style and put a lot of emphasis on hierarchy. Everyone in a control culture knows who they work for and who works for them. In a control culture, there's a lot of emphasis on compliance. The role of the individual is to comply with the requirements from their supervisor. The head of these organizations communicates a vision and then everyone who works for them in the organization is responsible for carrying out this vision.
