- It's all about connecting, not networking. One of my favorite movies is "The Godfather." And there was a cool scene where someone had asked him for a favor, and the godfather agreed to do it. And he said, "Hey, I'm going to do this for you, "but one day I might ask you for a favor back." The godfather was seen as someone who is a connector. He's seen as someone who is resourceful, and he was seen as someone that can make things happen. Now, obviously I'm not telling you to create the same lifestyle as the godfather, but if you are someone who can connect dots, find opportunities, and if you can even do it in a selfless manner, without trying to get anything out of it, then you have become one of the greatest gifts of personal brand leaders, which is a connector.
