- In almost any kind of article you write, you'll want to consider interviewing sources. Readers like quotes from sources because it makes an article feel more credible, like they're getting information straight from the horse's mouth rather than secondhand from something the writer read or heard somewhere. A source is basically anyone who knows more about a subject than you do, someone who can provide insight on your topic. It could be an expert, say a professor in a field you're covering or an author of a book on the subject, or it could be an eyewitness who saw firsthand an event you're writing about. As long as you can make it clear to readers why your source's perspective is relevant, you can include any source that makes sense.
