Communicating for influence

- When influencing, the way that you communicate is critical. So here are four communication tips when you're looking to influence others. My first recommendation is to simply consult with the stakeholder that you're looking to gain support from. By asking the question of how a particular plan or idea could be developed and improved, you're beginning the process of involvement. Once you have involvement, it's much easier to develop that relationship into a more active role. The second tip is to communicate for exchange. This would take the form of offering support to someone on a project they're working on, if they support you with your requirements.
