- With an agile approach, user stories are meant to inspire dialogue and deep conversation. They're a pillar that brings about great products. User stories are not meant to simply be written up and passed on to someone else. They've always been about the conversation and collaboration. So how do you make sure the collaboration happens to create a great user story? Well first, get the key team players, the product owner and the BA, the developer, and others, as needed, together to discuss the user story and confirm intent. Is the intent of a story understandable and from an end-user point of view? If not, the product owner and business analyst needs to rewrite it, often collaborating with the source of the story on rewriting it into a usable user story that others can grasp and the team can deeply discuss.
