- When advocating for yourself at work, it's easy to fall into the paradigm that it's you versus your company or you versus your boss. But once you make your ask and advocate for whatever it is that you're asking for, that's just the beginning of the conversation. It's not the end. You've got to consider yourself and your boss as members of the same team trying to co-create a solution that'll work for everyone over the long term. Now, keep in mind you don't need to come up with the perfect solution all on your own, but you do need to stand up for what will and what won't work for you.
