- Retrospectives depend on many setup details. This is true more than any other Agile event. There's a lot of details that really matter. It matters who attends. It's also important who's not attending. It's important who facilitates your retrospective. It's also extremely important where you have your retrospective. The facilitator should work hard to make sure that everyone feels safe and engaged. Sometimes retrospectives bring out a lot of emotion. Some team members have strong ideas about what went well and what could be improved. It's important to have a good space, setup, and geared towards making people feel comfortable. That way they'll be open to new ideas. The room is a big part of that comfort. A good space can go a long way to making sure that everyone's in the right mindset.
