Character and flaws exercise

Character and flaws exercise

- Okay, if you're still with me, it means you need a little help getting started with your novel idea. Great, I'm going to walk you through the process of selecting a hero and a flaw for that hero which will serve as the basis for your starter novel idea. You'll then take the hero through the 15 beats of the novel development process and then by the end of the course, you'll have a full novel beat sheet. Remember, this is just a starter idea to help get you familiar with the beats and get your practicing the art of developing a novel from beginning to end. You don't have to use the beat sheet you end up with and you certainly don't have to write it. If at any time you'd like to start over with a new hero and a new flaw, simply come back to this part of the lecture and select a new combination, but I do encourage you to try to get all the way through the novel road map with the hero and flaw that you selected, just to get used to the process of developing a story from start to finish…
