Changing the vision

- In a perfect world the vision statement would be a clear and consistent message that's written early in the program, and then used repeatedly throughout, without being changed very much at all. Changing the vision statement is generally not recommended unless absolutely necessary. Because change could be perceived as high-level stakeholders not having a clear idea of what the future looks like, which could cause confusion, and lead to a lack of commitment, and high levels of resistance. However, this is not a perfect world, and situations arise which can lead to valid reasons for changing the vision statement. It may be that part of the vision was ambiguous or unclear, and is changed for clarification. It could be something as simple as a grammatical change, or removing an acronym or some jargon, to adding a more specific-performance target, or it might be there were significant changes to the organization's strategic objectives, which requires the direction of the program to be…
