- As an executive coach, I often help people who have difficult challenges at work. Although, they cannot change their work situations, they can change how their brains handle this challenge. Let's take a look at how we know that brain change is possible and how we know that you can change your brain. We'll also examine how you can use brain signs to help yourself and others too. I once worked with a senior human resources leadership team that was very burnt out and there were no signs that the workload was getting any lighter. They came to me for help. I explained that even though little could be done about the workload, they could change their brains to manage the workload more effectively. Your brain's ability to change is called neuroplasticity. Extensive research shows that this is possible. For instance, your brain can form new brain cells called neurons or it can form new connections between neurons too.
