- There is no such thing as the perfect job and just as there are two sides to every coin, there are pros and cons of different types of work. In this video, I wanna focus on the downsides of working as a temporary employee or contractor. Temporary jobs are short term, usually less than a month and can be as short as one day. You're often given a very short notice when your services are needed and your availability definitely impacts how often you will be called for potential jobs. Many temporary employees feel somewhat isolated and not necessarily embraced by the client's full time employees. Too often, there is no onboarding or orientation, which makes it harder to assimilate to each new environment. This can hamper your ability to become comfortable and productive. When you first start and are learning basics, often, managers and other employees may not be particularly helpful.
