(bright music) - Let's continue with our next challenge by finding and reading the balance sheet for the same company that you used for your income statement challenge. Once you have the balance sheet in hand, I want you to do a few things. First, find the asset section and notice the type of resources your company uses to operate their business. Do they have loads of cash, lots of inventory, or maybe they have long-lived assets like equipment? Next, I want you to find the liability section and notice how much this business is obligated to pay others. Debt is necessary to run most businesses these days. And finally, I want you to find the equity section and notice the dollar amount of stock outstanding as well as the retained earnings. The balance sheet is just like the annual family holiday photo.
