- As you progress toward your goal, occasionally you'll struggle, and that's normal. But very often you'll also succeed. In those moments of success, it's critical for you to celebrate and make a record of your progress. Earlier I mentioned how the brain is likely to give you many logical, justifiable reasons why you're not going to succeed. Also, we're often moving so fast that we ignore a moment of success in a hurry to get on to the next task. By recording and celebrating your successes, you're reinforcing to your mind that you have more reasons to succeed than to fail. Begin by acknowledging your success with your head, heart and mouth. Head stands for intellectual acknowledgment. We just want your brain to slow down for a moment and see what happened. When you do follow through on your goals to any degree, stop, tell your brain I just had success when I, and then complete the sentence. Using my marathon example,…
