- If you're serious about becoming a CNA, there's good news. Like all of the other jobs in this series, it takes less than a year to complete the training. The bad news is that you need to do some things before you begin. One is to get the Hepatitis B vaccinations. It's a series of three injections over a four to six-month period, so, you'll need to plan in advance. Check with your CNA program for details. Also, you need to pass an exam to get into the program it consists of basic English language skills and basic math. CNA programs are in high demand, so take the time to study and make sure you'll pass. The program usually takes one semester and includes classroom lecture skills lab in school, and a clinical rotation in a healthcare facility. The clinical rotation is where you work with patients and practice all of the ADL's. After your semester of training, you'll be eligible to take the written test and the skills test.…
