- Change can't be done alone. As bad as it may be, as necessary as you may think it is, you're going to have to get others involved if you want it to be successful. Creating urgency and building coalitions go hand in hand. Building a coalition requires that you first identify who you want and need in your coalition and then building a sense of urgency. This will obviously depend on your organization and your team needs. But I want to give you a few basic pointers on who you should include and how. When looking to build a coalition, your stakeholders are your bread and butter. You need to determine who you need to have on your side and whether or not you need to reach out to them early on.
