- If you're a manager or setting policies for bringing employees back to work, you're probably trying to figure out what you can and can't ask employees about to assess their risk to others. So let's cover some basic principles to keep in mind to ensure you bring back your workforce in a safe manner that's also respectful of individual privacy. So first and foremost, be transparent. That means being clear, open, and honest with employees about what you're doing with their personal information. Tell them why you need it and what you'll do with it. Communicate this in a way that is easy for employees to understand and to be able to access. Now you may choose to do this by creating a back-to-work policy or sending a letter from the CEO, or even discussing it at a company town hall.
