From the course: Using Video to Convey Your Passion and Personality

Bringing the brand to life with video

- Are you launching a new product or a service? Creating a video to show how it works is extremely powerful. 98% of users said that they've watched an explainer video to learn more about a product or a service. That's why 45% of businesses who use video marketing said that they have an explainer video on their home page. Of those businesses, 83% said that their home page explainer video was effective. If all of these facts are true, what makes these videos successful? Well, it's the person in front of the camera representing the brand that matters the most. Let's go back to the QVC days. It was never the project that sold itself, it was the persona that told the story behind the brand. That's what you need to master. And the easiest place to start is with body language and speaking skills. Now talking about QVC and HSN, as a spokesperson who actually got paid to represent brands and products, I know how difficult it can be. But you really need to be able to master the story behind the brand, be able to tell it in an authentic, comfortable way, so that the audience really believe what it is that you're saying. You can't just memorize a script and hope that people believe in your product. You have to really know what your product is standing for, the mission behind it, and what it is that you want to share with the audience. So let's dive in to figure out how to master those powerful speaking skills and talk about those eight common mistakes when creating video.
