- Now that you've set the brackets of the conversation with what's working best and a one-year vision of what success looks like, it's time to help your coachee or employee scan for three things to help bridge that gap in between, people, skills, and projects that build directly upon what you already identified together in the plant stage. At this point, I like giving a fork in the road in the conversation. You can say something along the lines of great, we're about halfway through our time together. Would it be helpful to keep developing and building out your one-year vision, or would you like to move on to doing some brainstorming about small next steps and experiments so we can try to help you work toward that vision?
