From the course: Reduce Tension with Breathwork

Breathwork to ease boredom

(upbeat music) Today we're going to be doing some breathing for when you're feeling bored. We've all felt that way, and one of the most amazing things that you can do while you're bored is to shift up your energy in a way where you feel more fun, and more energized and more expansive. And breathing can really help you do that. Breathing helps all those stuck, bored feelings, it helps it to get it moving. And we're going to move our bodies so that you feel all of that stuck energy flowing more fluidly. So we're going to come and sit at the edge of our seat like this, with our feet flat on the floor. And just relax your shoulders, sit up tall, and open up your heart center. Open up your chest, 'cause just sitting this way's going to help you to feel more energized and excited. So just to center ourselves, we're going to take a couple of slow deep steady breaths. So slowly breathe in through your nose. (breathes in) And slowly breathe out through your nose. (breathes out) And slowly breathe in some fresh new energy, some expansive, excited energy. And then breathe out those feelings of being bored and indifferent. So we're going to continue on now, keep taking those slow, deep, and steady breaths. You can do this with your eyes open or closed. Whatever feels best for you. And we're going to start to speed up the breathing, so let's just do a few rounds like this. In and out through your nose. (breathes in and out several times) Keep going, a few more, imagine that you've got all this energy just flowing through you, it's clearing away all the boredom, all that energy that feels stuck. (breathes in and out several times) That's it, last three, two, one. Awesome! Okay, hopefully you're already feeling like you sloughed off some of that stuck energy, but now we're going to go even further with it by shaking our bodies. So start shaking your body, however you can, you can even go like that with your legs and just wiggle around and have fun with it. Have fun and get your energy flowing. Okay. Keep wiggling your body and now do your breathing, fast, in-and-out through your nose. (breathes in and out several times) Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Shake, shake, shake, shake off all those feelings of boredom. Nice! Keep it goin, keep it goin. Last three, two, one. (exhales) And now just rest. Woo! My gosh, that will make you feel a lot more expansive and excited and awake. So breathe in, (breathes in) and breathe out (breathes out) Now slow it down, feel the transformation inside of you, breathe in, (breathes in) and breathe out (breathes out) You ready for some more? Let's do another round. Okay, start shaking, wiggle it out. ♪ I'm all shook up. ♪ Just wiggle it out, woo! Have some fun, don't be so serious, shake off all of those feelings of indifference and boredom and now start to breathe. (breathes in and out several times) Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Shake your body, keep goin. Move the energy. Get out of that stagnant boredom and into the excitement, into the flow, into the rhythm. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. (inhales and exhales several times) Last three, two, one. And pause. Did you almost just shake off your seat? I did. You might have to readjust yourself, okay. Sit up tall, relax your shoulders, slowly breathe in. (breathes in) Slowly breathe out. Check out the transformation that you created for yourself. Breathe in. (breathes in) And breathe out. (breathes out) You did it! With your breathing, and with your body, you radically shifted the way that you feel. And I hope that you're feeling less bored, more motivated, and more enthusiastic, and more excited about finishing up all of your work today. Have a wonderful day. (upbeat music)
