- Engagement levels are far below desired levels. Gallup 2018 research revealed that only 34% of employees are engaged. But at the new pace of developments we need everyone in our company, department and team to be contributing as much as possible in order for our businesses to remain competitive. Everyone is different. We are motivated and engaged in different ways, by different things. Empathy is therefore instrumental for understanding each of your co-workers and increasing the effort they put into their work. Let's put this into practice right away. Pick two team members who you would like to be more actively engaged in their work and discover how to motivate each of them. Let's call your co-workers Marcie and Will for now.
