Balance for passion versus listening
- So there's a balance between having passion for your business and listening. And this is really critical when you're seeking funding. It's very, very important to show passion around what you're doing and a real understanding of the business that you are pursuing. This will come through. If you have the background and you really want to do this, it absolutely will come through, but there's a little bit of a balance between wanting to get it all out, share what you're doing, being sure of what you're doing, and listening. And this is a delicate balance because people will ask questions, and they will give you advice during your meeting. And you want to be respectful of the person on the other side of the table. They may not know your business very well, but you have the vertical depth, but they have a horizontal understanding. So they have seen lots and lots of different types of businesses, maybe in your space, maybe in other spaces, but they're going to have some advice for you…
