- All right, let's take a look at some common mistakes people make on both creating their problem statement and creating their solution statement. The first one is the problem statement is too vague. Right, so what I want to make sure that you do is that you keep it simple, that you're concrete. The more you concrete you are, the better. Be very specific if you can. The next mistake that I often see is that you're forcing the problem statement. You're forcing a problem that doesn't exist. And if you have that problem, you either have a problem with your problem statement or you might have a problem with your business, so you do need to watch out for that. So one example of kind of forcing the problem or manufacturing a problem, I was watching "Shark Tank" recently. An entrepreneur came on, presented to the Sharks, and presented this water bottle.
