- In the last week or perhaps 24 hours, did you receive an email and had an instant reaction? What? That won't work. Why did they do that? Or, that's not how we should proceed on this project. There may have been tense correspondence back and forth over the next few hours or days until you got enough information to understand exactly what they wrote and why. Much time was wasted, relationships were strained, and the project almost got derailed. We have all done this. Jumped to a conclusion, didn't verify details, reacted quickly, and the result was suboptimal. The process was unproductive. How do we avoid this?
