AutoConnect and Quick Shapes
- [Instructor] AutoConnect and Quick Shapes are the fastest way to build connected diagrams, such as flow charts and network diagrams. The key to using AutoConnect is to hover over a shape until four blue triangles appear. If you click any of the four and there's already a shape in that direction, Visio will connect the two. If you click an AutoConnect triangle and there aren't any shapes in that direction, Visio creates a new shape based on the currently selected master in the stencil and links the two shapes with the Dynamic connector. The Quick Shapes menu lets you preview which shape you'd like to add to the page by hovering over any of the four shapes in the menu. One click on the desired shape, and Visio places it on the page and connects it. By the way, the four shapes that appear on the Quick Shapes menu are the top four in the active stencil.
