- So when speaking to business leaders, your tone of voice is crucial. You must consider yourself equal and be forceful, but remember, not rude. Capturing the assertive tone of voice is an important skill. And you'll find lots of other courses about that. So I won't go into too much detail, but I'll give you some idea. It's an, "I win, you win," tone rather than an, "I win, you lose" tone. As that would be arrogant.
