Approaching a one-on-one with your boss
- Thinking about when you have your one-on-one with your boss, what's your intention? Just like any meeting, what's my intention for this meeting? How do I show up and be my best self? That might require some preparation getting ready for what you know the topic is going to be. It might mean making sure that you always schedule a 15-minute break before your one-on-ones so you can let go of whatever chaos was happening and just get centered and grounded, maybe have hot tea, maybe use a little essential oil, do a five-minute meditation, whatever you need that will bring you into that relationship as your best self. I would say you should put a lot of intention and time into being your best self when you meet with your boss because it's just going to set you both up for success. Another thing is to really think about empathy.
