- So those are some suggestions for influencing red people. Let's just think about how those map onto the six step process. So the first step is to have really clear objectives, and this is vital. Don't just tell red people that you're unhappy, there has to be an objective and you have to clearly know what you want. If they say, well, what do you want, and you say, well, I don't know really, then you're sunk. So really important to know what your objective is. Then we've got being liked. Now with red people it's not really about whether they like you or not, but if they find you irritating or you annoy them because you don't prepare enough or you mumble then that's going to be a problem.
