- It's time to start applying, like, it's your job, okay. Why do we want to treat it like a job? Because honestly you could get way more money in scholarships than you ever could at a normal summer job or even a job throughout the whole year. So I want you to think about this math. If you spent 520 hours working full time on a summer job, and you made $10 an hour, that's only $5,200, for the entire summer. Now, what if you got a $2,000-scholarship that paid you every year instead? You would have made more money getting that one scholarship the entire summer you spent at that job. So if you have the opportunity to take a summer, especially between your junior and your senior year, just to apply for scholarships, you will probably make more money doing that than anything else.
