Answer product management interview questions the right way
- The nature of product management is all about uncovering the best solution to underlying user problems in a vast sea of surface-level data, opinions, and requests. A great product manager has the ability to step back, ask the right questions, find the right data, and then come up with the solution that might not have been apparent initially. I like to refer to this ability as having a product management mindset. It's a mindset you're going to use every day as a product manager, but in order to help get the job as a PM, you've got to demonstrate this mindset when answering questions in interviews. Let me show you two ways you can answer any kind of question in a way that will show you've got what it takes. First, show your work and provide context. In interviews, you'll always have basic questions but you'll also get some questions that probe your critical thinking. You'll be asked to give your opinions of things.
