Analyzing your network map

- Now that you've created your network map, you can start to use it to identify opportunities to improve. Just by doing the exercise and visualizing your map, our participants tell us that many of the patterns just jump off the page. Here are some of the important things to look for. The most obvious one is relationships that are highly important to achieving your goals but where you saw the relationship as weak or neutral. If you have these, take some time to reflect on why the relationship is weaker than it needs to be. You probably need to invest more time with these individuals. A second signal of problems is imbalanced communication. If you provide someone with a lot of information and input but you get very little in return, it may be a sign that they are not as interested as you are in the relationship. It may of course be fine for that to be imbalanced communication in some situations, but it's worth thinking…
