All the world's a stage
- Let me ask you this. Have you ever fantasized about going to work and having nobody to deal with that day? Most managers get that fantasy, especially those in HR. I am sure there are days when you grow tired of all the drama that comes with being in HR. As Shakespeare reminded us, "All the world's a stage." That includes the workplace. Every day when we walk into the workplace, we step onto an emotional stage. Generally, you don't realize that fact until the moment something feels unfair to you or to somebody else. Humans need drama, so we're guaranteed to have it. It's how we learn to manage our emotional roles. We'll have negative dramas at work, or positive ones, and which of those two predominates is a choice. But no workplace will be, or even should be, without drama.
