As Shakespeare said, all the world is a stage. That includes the workplace. You step on stage when something feels unfair, playing victim, villain, or hero roles. Awareness of this drama helps better manage your role on stage.
- Let me ask you this.…Have you ever fantasized about going to work…and having nobody to deal with that day?…Most managers get that fantasy,…especially those in HR.…I am sure there are days when you grow tired…of all the drama that comes with being in HR.…As Shakespeare reminded us, "All the world's a stage."…That includes the workplace.…Every day when we walk into the workplace,…we step onto an emotional stage.…
Generally, you don't realize that fact…until the moment something feels unfair…to you or to somebody else.…Humans need drama,…so we're guaranteed to have it.…It's how we learn to manage our emotional roles.…We'll have negative dramas at work,…or positive ones,…and which of those two predominates is a choice.…But no workplace will be, or even should be,…without drama.…
Just make sure it's the positive, engaging, and fun type.…Let me ask you another question.…Have you ever dealt with a manager or employer…where all the logic was on your side of the conversation,…and yet, they stuck to their opinion or conduct?…
