- Congratulations. You've taken the first and most important step. You've decided to become an advocate for change in your organization. I know sometimes this can be daunting, but now more than ever before, real change is possible. I'm Dereca Blackmon and I'm CEO of Inclusion Design Group. And like you, I came into this work of wanting to make change with a few obstacles. As I was Assistant Vice Provost at Stanford University, over our Diversity Inclusion Office. There were a few naysayers who weren't too optimistic that change could happen in a place so large. They said, oh, I don't know if people in athletics or the professional schools or the faculty will be really, really be bought into this idea of inclusion and equity. And yet over the five years that I was there, my team and I trained over 30,000 students, staff, faculty, and alumni. And this course will share with you some of the key principles we use to make that change across the system so large. I believe that it's important to develop a win-win, and identify our collaborators and champions that can help us narrow our scope into a goal that we can achieve.
