- Adding slides to your talk is a great way to help information stick with the audience and also show pictures to make your talk feel authentic. But one golden rule of slides before we move forward. Slides are for the audience, not for the speaker. One of the quickest ways to run off an audience is by turning around and reading directly from the slides.
