Addiction as a community and workplace issue

- Many of us have days when we have a drink, or two, or even three, and many people use drugs recreationally too, right? But how do you know when you've taken things a little too far? When in fact, you might be sabotaging yourself and your life and don't even realize it. I'm Doctor Srini Pillay. I'm a Harvard trained psychiatrist with a background in clinical psychiatry, brain imaging research, and executive coaching. Let's walk through a perspective on addiction in the workplace and community that you can reflect on and consider in your everyday life. I'll remind you that addiction applies to more than just drugs and alcohol. It applies to work, food, technology, shopping, and a host of other situations, too. And you'll also learn when and how to seek help, about self and other stigma, and about the most recent technology that can help your or someone else's addiction. I really hope that this brief introduction to addiction in the community will stimulate your motivation and interest in whether you or someone you know might be suffering from a very curable condition for which help is readily available because when you address your addictions you release yourself to a greater degree of freedom in your own life.
