Skill Level Intermediate
- People are fascinated with identifying and labeling types of people. Even Hogwarts have the Sorting Hat to help Harry Potter know if he was really a Slytherin or meant to be Gryffindor. The rest of us are stuck taking online quizzes to see what Hogwarts house we might fall into. Behavior and personality assessments can be incredibly useful when building efficient teams that work well together. You can't have a team of all processors and no motivators. And what would task-oriented leaders do without socio-emotional leaders to be there as well? Understanding team dynamics and behaviors is a powerful tool when it comes to managing and motivating teams. Over 2 million people a year take the Myers-Briggs Assessment and "StrengthsFinder 2.0" was one of the top 10 bestselling books on Amazon for 10 years in a row. But it's not enough to be able to categorize yourself and others as personality types. The real strength is in gaining this understanding to help better your leadership, your relationships, and your teams. My name is Eric Zackrison, I'm a professor, a consultant, and I've managed and owned businesses for nearly 30 years. I've used a variety of tools and methods for creating cohesive teams. But one that I continually incorporate is helping people understand how to manage differences and behavior and personality. In this course, I'm going to help you understand what personality and behavioral assessment tools are available, how to choose the right one for your team, and more importantly, how to use the knowledge to adapt your leadership style to the needs of your team. I will walk you through how to assess different behavioral styles and personalities, and give you tools to improve conflict management, motivation and delegation amongst the different styles. Great leaders know themselves and know how to adapt to the needs of their team. So if you're ready to dive in, let's get started.
