Accumulating small wins
- It's important to leverage the power of small wins when advocating for change because it took us a long time to get to this place where we recognize that there are diversity issues and racial inequity within our companies. Now, in order to overcome those issues, it's not going to take a short period of time. It's going to take a few wins in order to get there. So what we need to do is recognize that in these instances, when we're advocating for change, we have to ask ourself, what is the most that I can accomplish right now in this conversation? And then you can create your strategy around that. So here's an example. Let's say you recognize that there are diversity issues within your company, and you might want to change all of that in a short period of time.
