Accept difficult situations
- One of the most difficult times in my career was when I was new in my role and our business had suffered significant financial losses. Our products were not as good as our competition and my company went through a big restructuring. My boss was fired. My boss's boss was fired. My job was at stake. At that time, I didn't have access to mindfulness practice. Now I wish I did. We live in a world and workplace that is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence, globalization, restructuring in organizations. All of these are accelerating the pace of change faster than our brains process it. There's even an acronym for it. It's called VUCA, volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous. All of this can create tremendous stress because our mind wants to believe that we are in control. In order for us to feel safe. When it feels out of control our mind has a tendency to create stories about situations that are happening around us.…
