Often we fall into the trap of thinking that all of our tasks and responsibilities are vital in one way or another. Surely you've experienced something similar when you're going through your closet during spring cleaning. You start with a mindset that if I never wear it, it's got to go. Yet you soon find yourself making exceptions and telling yourself things like I know I never wear this howling wolf shift but I might want to one day, so you keep it, and your closet remains as crammed as ever. So how can you avoid this trap? In short, be extreme with your criteria. One way to do so is by adopting the 90% rule. Start by considering the most important criterion for the decision you are making. For example, if you're cleaning a closet, that criteria might be will I ever wear this again.
