Skill Level Beginner
- People have written thousands of books on how to be a great leader, from high level strategy and thoughtful research into company culture to entire workshops devoted to the best model of executive leadership. But what about the minutia of leadership? What makes a successful leader day in and day out? How do you as an executive leader balance everything on your shoulders and still stay sane? How do you achieve as the ancient philosophers would ask, the good life and lead your organization to success? That's what I want to offer you in this course, 20 manageable and beneficial habits you can build into your life to get you one step closer to flourishing as an executive leader. I'm Aaron Marshall and I'm the Chief Operating Officer at the beautiful Santa Barbara Zoo. We're an organization serving about half a million guests each year with nearly 200 employees and over a thousand annual volunteers. Now that's a lot to keep track of, but it's also given me the experience to know what works and what doesn't in a life with multiple responsibilities. In this course, I'll give you habits to keep you grounded and habits to help you stay disciplined, habits for handling your relationships and habits that help you become a more discerning thinker. If you're ready to consider some new ways of being in the world, let's get started.
